I remember meeting Maryam in a coffee shop in Bellevue and being taken aback by how beautiful and graceful she is, despite the fact that she had just traveled pretty far via bus in the pouring rain. I was so thrilled when she told me her wedding was at Mount Si Golf in Snoqualmie, Washington. Eastside King County's regal natural beauty is often neglected by many Seattle brides.
If I were to use one adjective to describe Maryam and Tyler, it would be "STYLISH". They have a very strong SoCal-meets-Ibiza-meets-the-Pacific-Northwest vibe to them, if that makes any sense.
One thing that was very prominent was their amazing taste in music. Oh, did I mention they met while dancing at an Avicii concert?
Yeah, try to top that as a first-time-meeting story. The whole night was warmly lit by the Snoqualmie sunset while songs like "Fade Into You" by Mazzy Star, "Fake Empire" by The National (first dance), "California Stars" by Wilco (which was the mother-son song) played in the background. Those songs that tie a knot in your stomach. It was romance, romance, romance.
Their story made me believe that there is a thing called "fate". From completely different places, you would think two people perfectly matched for each other would have never crossed paths, but the universe has a weird way of doing great things.
